Freeport Harbour Company Marine Operations is equipped with the latest technology to guarantee excellent standards in service and safety.
The FHC control room, is equipped with 24 hour monitoring of real-time weather and current information, which is updated updated every 3 minutes.
- Aanderaa – Real-Time Communication System with Seaguard® Platform, and the Aanderaa smart sensors to power our met-ocean monitoring. Using Real-Time Collector to connect the Aanderaa Real-Time allows efficient access to data from higher level applications. The next evolution of this system is for FHC to provide multiple external clients with data directly to their devices.
- For the purpose of monitoring and tracking of vessel traffic and obtaining vessel data, FHC has agreements in place with:
- RosePoint ECS – Commercial Grade Electronic Charting and Navigation Software for Professional Mariners – the industry-leading navigation software.
- Vessel Tracker – GLOBAL COVERAGE THROUGH TERRESTRIAL AND SATELLITE AIS. Also SHIP DATABASE
- IHS Markit – AISLive network
- Lloyds List Intelligence – Maritime Intelligence of the Informa Intelligence Division
- Marine Radar interfaced with the Rose Point and AIS for monitoring of vessel traffic
- CCT with infra-red capabilities.
- Aids to navigation that are GSM equipped to provide for status and location monitoring.
Quality & Process Improvement
During 2016, FHC embarked on the initiative to become ISO 9001 certified. ISO 9001 is the internationally recognized standard for Quality Management Systems (QMS). It promotes the adoption of a process approach when developing, implementing and improving the effectiveness of a QMS, to enhance customer satisfaction by meeting customer requirements. Process improvement through quality will be the basis of FHC’s customer service improvement initiatives.
