Orlando Forbes is a Marine Captain and the Chief Operating Officer at Hutchison Ports FHC. In this role, he oversees the day-to-day operations of the port, ensuring that all operations are carried out in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. He is also responsible for developing and implementing strategies to increase the port’s competitiveness and profitability, as well as for maintaining good relations with customers, stakeholders, and local authorities.
Capt. Forbes has vast experience in the marine, shipping, and port industries, having begun his career in the Royal Bahamas Defense Force and ultimately holding various senior management positions throughout his 30-year career with the Freeport Harbour Company.
His innovative and motivational leadership is a major contributor to the continued growth of Hutchison Ports FHC, having notably expanded the company’s earnings during the pandemic by encouraging cruise lines to use the Freeport Harbour for technical calls such as bunkering, supplies, and maintenance.
Capt. Forbes holds an MBA and is widely respected within the industry for his knowledge and expertise in port operations, logistics, and supply chain management.
